FOUNDER & LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST ca psy30672

KELLY VINCENT, PSY.D.

Specializes in trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, motherhood, female entrepreneurs, 20-somethings, and mind-body approaches.

Approach

Dr. Vincent is passionate about treating the WHOLE person. She believes that mental and emotional struggles not only reside within the mind but also in the body.

Her dissertation (graduate research) explored integrating movement and exercise into traditional talk therapy, which led her to become passionate about incorporating psychophysiology and a mind-body approach in practice.

As a result, her work is integrative and often incorporates the physical body through EMDR, yoga, biofeedback, breathwork, walk talk, nervous system education and regulation practices, meditation, and somatic work. Her goal is to incorporate all aspects of the client. The emotional aspects, attitudes and beliefs (mental), physical manifestations of struggles (body), and spiritual elements (deeper rooted meanings about one’s existence and future).

Dr. Vincent’s therapeutic approach is open and collaborative and integrates empirically-based treatment methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also commonly incorporates modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, DBT, and solution-focused therapy.

She intends to create a safe, supportive, and calming environment for you to feel a sense of relief and release while building insight and adaptive coping tools to utilize in your day-to-day better to manage the intensity and frequency of your experience.

Dr. Vincent is the author of True You: A Self-Discovery journal, A Holistic Guide to Managing Anxiety eCourse, and When You Feel Like a Fraud: A 6-step guide to managing imposter syndrome eCourse.
